Scenes from our travels

I’ve been to China a few times and in 2012 we got a few days off to visit The Great Wall. I was surprised that much of it was overgrown with brush.
2015: I suppose you could say the most striking thing about Amsterdam are the canals, but to me to most unique thing is the proliferation of bicycles.

France.
The lovely Mrs. and I were lost in the streets of Paris when we stumbled upon a familiar landmark along the Seine.

Japan
Back in 1993, I flew into Japan when the other pilot pointed to Mt. Fuji and said, “What’s that?” Two days later we climbed it, but neither of us had a camera with us. A few years later I took this shot.
My first trip to Mexico as a pilot was in 1983 and over the years I was captivated by the beauty of the mountains, the beaches and the deserts. But as the years went on all that changed. In 2003, one of our hotels was filled with men not in uniform carrying machine guns. We always worried about security for our passengers. In 2013 a corporate crew was kidnapped because if you kidnap the crew, the company can be blackmailed since the airplane is effectively grounded. I now avoid all travel to Mexico. It is a pity.
In 2016 we spent some time in Bora Bora, Fiji, and a few other tropical locals. Since we grew up in Hawaii, our standards for these kinds of locations is rather high. Bora Bora did not disappoint. This was the view from our very own room on the water.
