Scenes from a boat . . .
We don’t spend a lot of time on the water, despite having been raised in Hawaii. But we do venture out now and then. I took the photo above of the Canadian coastline from a cruise ship going from Vancouver to Anchorage. This was in 2017 and was only our second experience on a cruise ship. It was shaping up to be just an average experience until we had a chance to go whale spotting. . .

Humpback whales . . .
Taken from a small boat near Juneua. We were told humpback whales don’t normally breach up north, but we might possibly see them throw their back fins in the air. So why not? I was hanging off the bow of the boat hoping to get one of those fin shots and this happened.
